Since "upgrading" to Safari 5, I've noticed that pages are taking longer to load. Anyone else feel that Safari has gotten slow?

Same here. The dashboard page is great, but everything is slower. I skipped the OS update (snow leopard?) because I was not in the mood to reward them. I'll wait for the next one. Combined with the iPhone mess ("It's not the phone, it's the bars! *time passes* "Okay it is the phone, we were just hoping you would not notice."), new Apple stuff is becoming much less appealing.

I just scored a fast new Imac i7... I expected Safari 5 to load much faster than it does on my old dual G5. Such is not the case. Even Safari 5 on the old tower was no great shakes... compared to version 4. Makes me want to check out something else, again. Trying out Chrome because the old machine couldn't run it. Don't see what the fuss is about it... so far, anyway.

I hate the new safari 5. It crashes (no not flash), hangs, takes too long to load, and in general fucks up constantly.
Bad apple. Bad.

I just scored a fast new Imac i7... Congrats, eh! So - how you like? Still dithering over my next machine; I'll likely put off the purchase until early next year. In the meantime I'll get an Airport base station, finally set up wi-fi at home, and gets meself an iPad (possibly mid-August). I vant.

I like the machine, Doug. I'm afraid I'm sort of over the thrill of a new Mac vibe that used to get me off, but this is still a very nice machine. It has 8 Gb of RAM and feels pretty frisky but I haven't put it through its paces yet with stuff like Logic and the Adobe Suite.
Groove: maybe it is an Intel/Snow Leopard thing with Safari 5. I should give Camino a look-see again. I really don't care for Firefox. Dunno why - it just feels very generic to me - always has. Certain slick things in Safari always has me coming back.

So far so good on my 15" MBP 2.66 core i7 with 8GB ram and 2GPUs (Intel and NVIDIA GT330M). No issues with Safari.
This is a smok'n machine, puts my trusty G5 pro tower to shame. No regrets getting it. Couldn't wait any longer for a tower refresh from the weenies at Apple.

i got the very same machine. I just put that hybrid seagate 500gig XT with the 4 gig SSD, it made it faster if that was even possible. Looking forward to the 64gig hybrid

Looking forward to the 64gig hybrid I switched out the hdd for a 7200rpm drive and upped the RAM, but that's it. Not sure if I want to spend the coin on SSDs and 64GB hybrids. Sounds good tho, but also sounds fucking expensive.
